At Speedinvest, Yang is part of the General Seed team, and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investments. He previously worked at Silicon Valley-based VC Plug and Play Ventures as a Ventures Analyst and prior to that, he worked at a Dutch Hedgefund in Amsterdam as a Research Analyst. Yang also dived into banking with internships at Berenberg and UBS. He holds two master’s degrees from the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University). For his master’s thesis in Business Information Management, he focused on predicting bitcoin price movements using machine learning techniques. In his second master’s program, Finance & Investments, Yang wrote about ownership, underpricing and the long-term performance of US Internet IPOs. Engaging in a variety of fields, he founded a student investment fund.
Machine learning not only captures Yang’s interest in the business context: he also enjoys to code in his free time and cultivates a passion for automating things. Yang is also a great traveler who loves exploring new cultures. He has been on a number of road cycling trips through the Netherlands. His next trip is planned to be from Berlin to Copenhagen.
