Tom Filip Lesche

When Tom was co-founding a banking startup in Berlin, he realized first hand how crucial it is to receive external financial and operational support early on. This experience keeps motivating him every day in his search for great founders and great ideas.

As an investor, he is passionate about growth-stage companies and tech-enabled business models within the financial services industry, spanning from banking and insurance to asset management and specialty finance. 

Although always focused on the founders, Tom doesn’t mind the number crunching part where he can leverage his experience from many years in investment banking before joining the Speedinvest Fintech investment team.

Most recently, he was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in London, advising financial technology clients on a variety of capital markets and M&A transactions.

At Witten/Herdecke University, Tom studied the fields of Economics, Banking and Finance up to the PhD level and also gained teaching experience at WHU, Kellogg and Goethe University.

Born and raised in Hamburg, Tom enjoys his free time boxing, running, and traveling to as many new and far away places as possible.
